yesterday, we were hit, in a splendid way, with a winter storm. i admit to being grateful for it, because it has been (as my mama and i have taken to calling it ~ the winter that wasn't).
it's never really business as usual when the white outs arrive, we had dear friends cancel a visit because of the snow, and other friends show up unexpectedly, to celebrate. then, having said farewell to our visitors, my daughter and i, at dusk, set out for walking. i love a good snow hike, particularly at dusk, that mystic hour when night and light kiss. it is always an opportunity to call upon my inner sherpa, to celebrate my fondness for textures and layers with some nomadic panache. as we were layering it on... fur hat, with a scarf wrapped over top, coat, ponchos, big socks, boots.... i found myself thinking of this lay out from vogue korea. hats off to this collection in all regards! what snow queens, strong, wild, wise looking women ~ women of the ice and snow.
